City Offices Closed Good Friday

 

Most City offices will be closed Friday, April 3, in observance of Good Friday. Neither garbage collection nor landfill operations will be interrupted on Good Friday.

Fort Concho’s Visitor Center in Barracks 1 will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The fort will also be open during its normal Sunday operating hours, 1 p.m.-5 p.m., on Easter Sunday. Self-guided tours will be available throughout the weekend. The fort is at 630 S. Oakes St.

The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) offices, which are normally closed on Fridays, will also be closed Thursday, April 2, in observance of Easter.

Among the City operations that will be closed for the holiday: Station 618 and Santa Fe Crossing senior centers, Southside and Carl Ray Johnson recreation centers, the McNease Convention Center, the San Angelo-Tom Green County Health Department, Fairmount Cemetery’s business offices, Municipal Court, the San Angelo Nature Center and the San Angelo Animal Shelter. The animal shelter, 3142 U.S. Highway 67 North, will also be closed Saturday, April 4, although volunteers are invited to help walk dogs behind the facility from 8 a.m.-10 a.m. Saturday.

TLC’s 14th Easter Fest will be at Texas Bank Sports Complex, 509 Rio Concho Drive, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Fairmount Cemetery, 1120 W. Avenue N, will host a sunrise community worship service at 7 a.m. Easter morning, Sunday, April 5. On Saturday, Firefighters Memorial City Park will be the site of a community Easter egg hunt, beginning at 9 a.m. The park is at 315 E. Twohig Ave.

Entry fees will be collected at Spring Creek and Middle Concho parks on Good Friday. Fees are collected in the two Lake Nasworthy parks on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from the first weekend in March through the Labor Day weekend. Camping permits are required year-round. Entry and camping permits can be purchased at the parks’ entrances. Camping permits can also be purchased at Spring Creek Marina in Spring Creek Park. Entry fees are $3 per vehicle for San Angelo residents and $6 per vehicle for non-residents. Camping fees are $6 per night for San Angelo residents and $12 per night for non-residents.

City offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, April 6.
