Police Diffuse Volatile Situation in Tinseltown Parking Lot

Several police units and two mental health deputies surrounded a black Chevy truck in the Tinseltown parking lot on Monday afternoon, where a man was reported to be contemplating suicide.

According to Sergeant Cade Solsbery, the call came in at 11:46 a.m., when a person who had been talking to the man over the telephone dialed 911 to report that he was sitting in his truck with a gun. When officers arrived on scene they found the man in his truck with a rifle next to him and were able to talk him into handing the weapon over and exiting the vehicle without any problem.

The man was then sat in a police cruiser until mental health deputies arrived, who talked to him for a while and then left with him in the car. No one was injured during the incident.
