Ribbon Cutting at Shannon Urgent Care Center - West

“Coming to an urgent care facility means you will be taken care of more quickly, and the cost is not as high as visiting the emergency room,” said Bryan Horner, CEO of Shannon Medical Center. “It’s exciting to open a [urgent care center] on the west side of town to serve the many people that live here now, and in the future.”

Shannon Urgent Care, at 4251 Sunset Dr., in the former Big 5 Sports store building, will open its doors officially on March 16. The facility will provide extended hours of care from 7 a.m.-10 p.m., seven days a week. This is not only the third extended hours location Shannon has opened, but the largest at 6500 square feet. The clinic is equipped with the proper equipment required to mend anything from broken bones to lacerations. Urgent care will save you a trip to the Emergency Room.

Driving by, you may notice that some of the structure is incomplete. According to Horner, when Shannon acquired the building one third of the space was already leased out to Aspen Dental. In order for Shannon to acquire the whole of the building, they needed to honor the lease.

“We think that’s something that will work out well with the dentist next door. That is another unmet need in our community, is access to dental care,” said Horner.

The dental care center will open during the summer.
