A fire broke out mid-morning at 9:40 a.m. at a residence at the corner of Raney and Field Streets, or the 2800 block of Raney.
The fire appeared to have consumed the garage and attic above it. There was a car parked in the driveway that was damaged as well.
Luckily, the residence has a fire hydrant in its front yard, which firefighters have used.
One person appears to be isolated from the crowd under police supervision.

Update 10:30 a.m.
Engines 1, 4 and 5 extinguished the fire. Smoke clearing operations are underway now. The isolated citizen was possibly in the house when the fire started.

Police are arresting the suspect we've been mentioning above.
Update 11:15 a.m.
Fire Marshal Ross Coleman stated that the call for structure fire was made at 9:35 a.m. Upon arrival, the garage of the house was fully engulfed, firefighters began a quick evasive suppression attack on the fire, and using thermal imaging cameras found that the fire had spread to the attic.
At the present time the fire has been extinguished. The kitchen area of the dwelling is a total loss, light damage to the living room area, and smoke damage throughout the house. No injuries were reported. It's unclear who was home when the fire was intentionally set by the son , who has been taken to Shannon Hospital for mental evaluation.
