White Chevy Impala Crashes into Toyota Avalon on College Hills

 

A northbound late model Toyota Avalon was attenpting to turn left on to Trinity Ave, at approximately 2 p.m. this afternoon. After initiating the turn, a white Chevrolet Impala was traveling southbound in the inside lane and could not stop in time to miss the Avalon.

The two cars collided. All of the Alalon's airbags and side airbags deployed as the car spun around 180 degrees on to Trinity.

College Hills was closed to traffic while the San Angelo Police and Fire Department tended the scene.

Officer Palmer was the investigor. He said that the driver of the Avalon will be issued a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic. There were no injuries other than minor. All occupants of both vehicles refused treatment or to be transported to the hospital.

The driver of the Avalon requested Toyota Motor Services through dispatch. Home Motors responded. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

I bet I know four people who have been in wrecks there, three were hit from behind while turning left onto Trinity. Simple paying attention would help, on this street.
