Cub Scout Pack Cleans Up Empty Lot Behind Target

The lot behind Target and the former Big 5 Sporting Goods has been an eyesore for quite some time. Plastic shopping bags, litter, bottles and other debris litter the area.

Rather than complain to someone else about the trash, a local Cub Scout Pack #374 with a charter at Sierra Vista Methodist Church organized a clean-up.

Over 30 of the 55 scouts assigned to the pack, along with their parents spent several hours yesterday picking up litter from the lot.

Way to go Pack 374 and Cub Master Jason Calhoun!

Kudos to those hard working, young men. We should ALL follow suit and allow a bit of our time to be volunteered toward similar projects. What an awesome move it would be to see your everyday citizen out in an open field, attempting to take care of this Earth we call home.
