Father Bob, as he was known in these parts, has lived or traveled all over the world and has seen life at its best and worst, according to parishioners. He served as the priest at several churches throughout his career. He was the chaplain of the Emmanuel Espicopal Church in San Angelo since the mid-1990s.
He was an outstanding man of faith, a great teacher and mentor, family man, and full of wisdom and knowledge, friends say.
According to Emmanuel Episcopal Church's Matt Rowe in this morning’s announcement via email of Father Bob’s death:
“I know that Fr. Bob has blessed your lives in many ways over the years, as he has blessed Beth, Shelby, Olivia and me with his presence in our lives since we came to Emmanuel. I am sad at his leaving, but he had full faith and confidence in our great Christian Hope of everlasting life through the grace of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. May that hope give us all comfort and courage as we celebrate Fr. Bob's life, and may his great example of life be an inspiration to each of us.
"Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your master" (Matthew 25:21).”
