Shannon Medical Center’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation program recently received a three-year certification from the American Association for cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation.
The Shannon press release explains the importance of the program.
“Cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation programs are designed to help people with cardiovascular problems such as heart attacks, coronary artery bypass graft surgery, and pulmonary problems such as COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and respiratory symptoms, recover faster and improve their quality of life,’ said Chris Easterwood, RN, director of Shannon Pulmonary Rehabilitation.”
The benefit to being certified as stated by aacvpr.org is: “Physicians can refer patients to your certified program with confidence, knowing that you can be an extension of their care to the patient.”
The application process takes a year and certification lasts for three.
