Ladies Come Out to Play During Breast Cancer Awareness Night

SAN ANGELO, TX — It was 'Tough Enough to be Pink Night' for Breast Cancer Awareness at the 10th Performance of the 91st Annual San Angelo Rodeo. The Ladies showed up to play, and they played hard.

Filled with action, Breast Cancer Awareness Night featured one of the best traditions in the Rodeo, the Boot Scramble. Featuring only moms wearing pink, the ladies raced for their boots before chasing down a runaway Bull Fighter to claim their prize. Ultimately, Miranda from San Angelo would catch that pesky Bull Fighter and claim victory.

Later in Barrel Racing, the fastest ride of the night came from Dublin, Texas, Cowgirl Kassie Mowry. Kassie and her horse transformed into lightning itself to finish their run in 14.04 seconds. That run easily secured them the top spot in the San Angelo Rodeo headed into the finals.

Another Cowgirl who was just a few hundredths of a second behind was Summer Cosel from Glenham, South Dakota. Cosel and her horse, "Apollo," met up with San Angelo LIVE!'s Matt Trammell after their run to talk about her odds of winning it all. It's the Barrel Racing, presented by the San Angelo Cardiovascular Center of Excellence.
