The Harris Brothers Own The San Angelo Rodeo

SAN ANGELO, TX — Nothing says Rodeo better than family. At the 9th Performance during the 91st Annual San Angelo Rodeo, the Cowboys displayed some sibling rivalry and brotherly love.

Events kicked off in the Steer Wrestling. Two brothers, Rowdy and Remey Parrott had the crowd on their feet. Remy ran down his steer in a lightning-fast 3.8 seconds. Later in the round, his older brother Rowdy ran just a tick slower at 3.9 seconds. Remey out-dueled his brother to place in the money standings. Remey Parrott finished tied for 5th overall in the first round, winning him $1,845.

Then came the Tie-Down Roping. Earlier in the San Angelo Rodeo, the audience saw San Angelo's own Joel Braden Harris try his luck. Although he did not make the finals, his brother and winner of the American Rodeo in Fort Worth, Ty Harris, carried on the family tradition. Moving into Wednesday's performance, everyone expected the Tie-Down to be electric. Ty heard the crowd but felt none of the pressure as he would wrangle his calf in 7.9 seconds. He tied for 5th in the first round, winning $2,442.

San Angelo LIVE!'s Matt Trammell snagged Ty after his money-winning throw and talked about his and his brother's run in the San Angelo Rodeo. Plus, could we possibly see some Team Roping from the two in the future? Find out here. It's the Tie-Down Roping, presented by the Clarion Hotel.
