Saturday Night was for Dancing and Bustin' Mutton

SAN ANGELO, TX — The 8th Performance at the 91st San Angelo Rodeo was a night filled with fun and games. Whether it was the Cowboys in the timed events or the Rodeo's special performances, everyone in attendance had a great time.

Steer Wrestlers had a reason to dance on Saturday night as several Cowboys posted qualifying times in their second-round attempts. Texas native Trey Green posted a 4.9, while the Mertzon Cowboy Tyler West posted a 4.8. Then it was Slammer Powers who lit up the crowd. After the former Sonora Bronco wrestled his steer in 4.4 seconds, he stood up and did a little victory dance for the audience.

The good times continued to roll when Dan James had the crowd clutching at their sides during the San Angelo Rodeo's Special Performance. The World-Class horse trainer showed off his horses' talents while doing a comedy routine with his degenerate dummy.

All the fun cumulated into the 8th Performance's Mutton Bustin' competition. The best run of the night came from Eva Filimon from Eldorado. She scored a whopping 92-ride. It's the Mutton Bustin', presented by Sonora Bank.
