Christoval Stars Steal Saturday Night at the San Angelo Rodeo
SAN ANGELO, TX — It wouldn’t be a San Angelo Rodeo without local talent taking over the show. Southern Tom Green County had plenty of representation on Saturday night during the 3rd performance at the San Angelo Rodeo.
We will start in the Barrel Racing. A competitive night throughout the entire competition, but a few cowgirls stood out. The hottest time of the night came from Idaho Cowgirl Rachelle Riggers. She won the night with a 14.28 and placed 4th overall so far in the rodeo.
Another run just outside the leaders came from Christoval’s own Preslie Reid. She dipped down, around, and pushed her way through the arena but just missed her mark with a score of 15.02. Despite the score, the crowd went absolutely wild for the Tom Green County native. Another rider from Christoval caused the crowd to go crazy. In the Mutton Bustin’, tough competition ensued. Southern Concho Valley would once again prevail as Christoval’s favorite 7-year-old, Quentin Collins, won with a score of 91.
San Angelo LIVE!’s Matt Trammell talked to Quentin after the best Mutton Bustin’ ride of the San Angelo Rodeo. Be sure not to miss out on Quentin’s victory dance in this interview. It’s Mutton Bustin’, presented by Sonora Bank.
