WATCH: Prayers Uplifted for Bronc Rider Who Survived Almost Fatal Blow to Head

SAN ANGELO, TX — Saddle Bronc rider Lucas Macza finished his ride with an 81 point score but it was following the dismount from the horse of the pick up man that was tough to watch

You could hear the horse Sky Fall make contact with the Canadian cowboy who went down immediately. Macza would be carted off the arena floor with the help of the Justin Sports Medical team, rodeo officials, and fellow cowboys. It was later announced Macza was conscious while suffering a severe face laceration and a broken jaw. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lucas Macza for a speedy recovery.

Despite the ferocity from the wild broncs, on the other side of the bronc riding, Tim O’Connell was able to move into the number 2 slot overall in bareback riding thanks to an 85 point score on the Rafter H bronc Storm Cloud.

Manny Diaz had a chance to chat with three-time NFR champ. He offered a very complete analysis of his ride.
