WATCH: Why Speed Matters at the 90th Annual San Angelo Rodeo

SAN ANGELO, TX – Sunday at the 90th annual San Angelo Rodeo was all about speed.

In the tie-down roping, 18-year-old Riley Webb showed that he was no greenhorn in the roping scene. Webb is coming off of a 2020 national high school tie down roping champion. He now holds the top spot in the rodeo with a 7.3 time.

Another form of speed shown Sunday was the speed to recovery. Back in Sep. the seven time world champion bull ride Laramie Mosley broke his neck. Now he holds the number ones pot with a 90 point ride.

The fastest performances came from the cowgirls. Martha Smith and Michelle Alley battled it out. Smith leads early but Alley edged her out by less than half a second.

San Angelo LIVE!'s Manny Diaz caught up with Smith to talk about her amazing run with her horse, Firewater Make me Happy.
