Bull Rider Stetson Wright's Secret to Success

SAN ANGELO, TX — Stetson Wright was only the sixth cowboy to reach eight seconds at the 2022 San Angelo Rodeo and he currently has the highest score of 88. He has a secret means of being excellent atop a bull.

Wright admitted there are plenty of excellent bull riders to come throughout the rest of the 8 regular performances and he is not counting on staying at the top spot for long but an 88 on performance 3 at this year’s rodeo is quite an accomplishment.

Wright, a three-time winner of ProRodeo’s all-around champion title has earned over $1.4 million since 2018. That’s quite a haul!

Stetson shared advice his dad Cody gave him years ago. His father Cody Wright is a two-time world champion saddle bronc rider (2008 and 2010).

“My dad had a big impact on my life,” Stetson said. “He taught us to be ‘healthy, wealthy, handsome, and happy.” Stetson said the adage allows him to remain positive no matter the challenge facing him. Watch the interview above.
