The Legends Who Fell at the 2021 San Angelo Rodeo

SAN ANGELO, TX — Erin and Army Sgt. Jeramy House were honored before performance 8.

Then the show started with bareback riding. Tilden Hooper, the Yellowstone TV star has some company in second place as Zach Hibler dazzled the crowd with an 87-point ride on a horse named Medicine Show. Watch the ride above.

In barrel racing, Bristan Kennedy, the pride of Levelland, Texas came through with a 14-second time. Barrel racing this year is fast. If you're not under 14.4 seconds, forget about coming back next Friday for the finals and the money. Bristan's two times of 30.43 seconds is good for 5th in the average. Maybe we'll see her in Friday's Short Go, another name for the San Angelo Rodeo Finals.

In saddle bronc riding, Saturday's 8th performance saw legends fall. Ryder Wright, the reigning world champion, was bucked off early by a horse named Red One. Meanwhile, the 40-year-old Cody Demoss, ranked number 3 in the world not able to finish his ride either.

This left the door open for Jarrod Hammons who rode a horse named Aces Wild to notch 83.5 points that placed him in a tie for third, fourth, and fifth. The top 12 return Friday for the Short Go.

Afterwards, Hammons talked the good times on aces wild and what it's like to outlast big names likes the Wright family and Cody Demoss. This is our saddle bronc presented by Michelob Ultra.
