Arden Animal Clinic: The Healers of the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo

SAN ANGELO, TX – One of the most important things at the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo is safety. With that the Arden Road Animal Clinic provides a free service to all the animals during the rodeo duration.

For the past month, veterinarians at the Arden Road Animal Clinic worked the rodeo and its stock during show every night for free.

"We do it because we love it." said Ben Inman of Arden Road Animal Clinic. "We've been here since the beginning of the rodeo and we'll be here till the end."

This is very important as these high-class athletes have to come out every night and perform at the top of their ability. Whether it's a roping calf or riding atop Tequila Worm, Pete Carr's most prized bull, Inman and his crew check every animal before the performance.

They also check every chute, stall, and the perimeters of the entire arena to make sure nothing happens to the animals. "We want to make sure that they can compete at their peak level every night," continued Inman. "From the gate to as they're leaving the arena, we check it out just to make sure everyone is going to be fine."

This yea,r Inman says that there wasn't much work for them since no animal was seriously injured during the rodeo.
