WATCH: Games And Carnival Life At The San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Fairgrounds

SAN ANGELO, TX — Andrea Reeves is working the carnival at the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo for the 26th season. That’s a long time! We caught up with her at the fishing game booth. It’s a popular game at the carnival.

This year, like last, the carnival is sponsored by Sutliff & Stout Personal Injury Attorneys. The rodeo association estimates the carnival attracts over 150,000 people during its 14-day run during the 12 performances of the rodeo.

For Andrea, who goes by Andy, working the carnival not just in San Angelo, but all over the nation, is her passion. “There’s always somewhere to go. New places, new faces,” she said.

Bradford J. Noel is another worker at the carnival. He said he was a chef with a bachelor’s degree. “I decided to take a break out of the industry and I decided I wanted to travel and see the world and entertain other people,” he said.

Amy said the carnival games have become more kid friendly over the years and it’s easier to win a prize. Noel said the pay is very good, “And, I love people!” Andy agreed. She especially enjoys running the games because she gets to interact with the families.

Noel said the games are winnable. Does he think he can win at the game of free throwing a basketball into small hoops? “Most definitely, most definitely,” he assured us.

In general, the carnival opens at 5 p.m. weekdays and at noon on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Here is the fairgrounds schedule.

This week's human interest stories about the rodeo are sponsored by Angelo MRI.
