San Angelo Rodeo Gets Dangerous

SAN ANGELO, TX — This weekend, two cowboys were knocked out cold laying motionless on the arena dirt while paramedics rushed to administer first aid. Friday night, bull rider Joseph Langlitz on a bull named Happy Days was bucked off right out of the chute. His head hit the arena dirt hard. He was unconscious for several minutes on the arena floor before getting taken out of the arena on a stretcher. We were told the cowboy refused treatment and seen was up and walking around later.

Saturday afternoon, 13-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier Cody DeMoss just finished his saddle bronc ride where he scored an 85. Then, a few bucks after the buzzer, DeMoss was thrown off the back of the horse and fell head first into the arena dirt. He too was knocked unconscious for several minutes while medics tended to him and he walked off the arena floor under assistance from medics.

Last week, bull rider Garrett Tribble fractured a disk in his neck after being bucked off a bull named Left Lane. Tribble told the PRCA that the fall off the bull cracked the back of his helmet. He was treated at Shannon Medical Center and released the next day. He said the doctors told him to sit out of the rodeo circuit for six weeks to allow the injury to heal.

In team roping, Clay Smith and Jade Corkhill roped their calf in just 4.5 seconds putting them in a tie for overall lead of the rodeo with Laramie Allen/Whit Kitchens with a two-run time of 8.3 seconds.

Concho Valley Trailers presents the interview with the two cowboys where they talk about the next round and introduce their horses. Watch it above.
