San Angelo Rodeo Ambassadors Holding Tryouts This Month

SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo Rodeo Ambassador tryouts take place this month.

Tryouts for the 2026-2027 San Angelo Rodeo Ambassadors will take place at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 17, at the Roping Fiesta Arena, 4890 Grape Creek Road in San Angelo.

Young women ages 13 to 24, as of April 27, 2027, are welcome and must have good moral character, strong communication skills, and be willing to serve and promote the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo. Applicants can expect pattern and group work, an interview, and are asked to bring Coggins tests for their horses.

Coggins is a blood test used to identify antibodies for equine infectious anemia, which is a potentially fatal disease in horses.

The San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Ambassadors represent the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo at both rodeo and community events. They also promote western heritage, agriculture and youth through performance.

The Ambassadors also serve as role models to other youth in the community.
