Mutton Bustin' Registration Opens for 2026 San Angelo Rodeo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Online registration opened Monday for the Sonora Bank Mutton Bustin’ competition at the 2026 San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo. 

Entries are accepted online only at sanangelorodeo.com

A drawing to select participants will be held the evening of Feb. 19, with the results pre-recorded and posted on the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Facebook page, SASSRA website, YouTube/SASSRA channel, and Sonora Bank Facebook page. 

Selected contestants will be notified by email and must pay a $35 entry fee by 8 a.m. Feb. 27 to confirm their spot. Failure to pay by the deadline will forfeit the spot, which will be filled from an alternate list. Performance times will be assigned during the drawing, and no trades are allowed. Entries are non-refundable. 

Contestants must be at least 4 years old and weigh no more than 50 pounds at the time of their performance; contestants will be weighed on site prior to competing. Safety equipment will be provided by SASSRA, and no ropes or other equipment are permitted. 

Winners of each performance will receive a buckle from Sonora Bank. Contestants must check in one hour before their scheduled performance at the coliseum box office.
