The Premium Sale for winners of the Livestock Show that was held in February is on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Spur Arena. Businesses and individuals from across the area come together to award the students for their success not only in the show ring but also for the hard work and dedication that they put into their projects of raising the animals. These type of projects teach students time management, responsibility, communication skills, and husbandry skills.

All money raised for the Junior Premium Sale is awarded to kids; the rodeo association does not take a cut. Businesses and individuals that donate to the premium sale may do so in advance of the sale and will be given a package of passes based on the amount of the donation.

The Cinch Chute Out happens at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night. This is an invitation-only, stand-alone rodeo contest with awards of added money for winning contestants. Tickets are sold out.

Texas Country Music performer Josh Ward performs at the Beer Barn immediately after the Cinch Chute Out, April 20.

Tejano Day is Sunday, April 21. This is the first year that a "Mexican Rodeo" will be performed at the coliseum. Produced by Gerardo "Jerry" Diaz, the rodeo production is filled with pageantry and excitement. A limited number of tickets to the special performance to be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday are still available. Get them online here.

Just because you do not have tickets to the Short Go or the Cinch Chute Out does not mean you cannot have a great time at the rodeo grounds during the performances. The O.H. Triangle Ranch Wine Tent is open with closed-circuit TV of the performances inside the coliseum. Entry to the fairground is a nominal $5 per person and that gets you access to both the Beer Barn and the Wine Tent.
