Wall ISD Student Earns 'Grand Champion' Status at RodeoHouston

HOUSTON, TX - A Wall ISD student clinched the top spot at RodeoHouston.

15-year-old Blaize Benson showed his steer, "Woozy," to a packed NRG Stadium Friday night.

It was here where Benson's Simmental steer was named the 2024 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Grand Champion Junior Market Steer.

The cattle are expected to be auctioned off on Saturday. In 2022, the winning steer, "Vanilla Ice," broke RodeoHouston records by selling for $1 million.

The money earned will go toward the winners' college fund and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Educational Fund.
