ABILENE, TX – The Concho Valley had three cowboys who performed well at the 2023 Texas High School Rodeo Championships in Abilene recently.
As previously reported, the state championships ran from June 1 until June 10. During that time, 15 cowboys and cowgirls representing the Concho Valley participated in events such as Bareback Riding, Team Roping, Goat Tying, and more.
Three of those contestants were able to place in their events. Wyatt Williams from San Angelo placed 6th in Bareback Riding, while Jaspur Farris from Brady finished just behind him in 7th place. Wyatt scored 120 points, and Jaspur scored 57 points in the rodeo.
The other contestant who placed was Trevin Coffell from Mertzon. Trevin scored an average of 31.17 in calf roping, earning him 12 points and securing the 5th position.
