Pandemic Delays San Angelo Rodeo

SAN ANGELO, TX – Rodeo officials confirmed Wednesday that the 2021 San Angelo Rodeo will be moved.

Tuesday Rodeo Houston announced that they will be pushing back their rodeo to May. The Jr. Livestock Show in Houston is still expected to happen on normal schedule. In early Oct. the Fort Worth Rodeo canceled due to fear of spreading coronavirus.

The San Angelo Stock Show will still continue as planned in Feb. This year though they will spread out the shows more.

"For example we won't have different species in the barn at one time," said Jonas. "We are working very hard here to keep everyone safe."

This year they will also be live streaming all of their livestock shows to help reduce crowds in the livestock barns.

The SASSRA said that they are working very closely with a lot of entities including Tom Green County Local Health Authority Dr. Vretis.
