Two World Champions Face Off in the 2020 Cinch Roping Fiesta

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo announced the contestants for the 2020 Cinch Roping Fiesta Match Roping. 

According to the SASSR, on August 26, Tyson Durfey and Caleb Smidt will battle it out in a 12 head roping contest for the chance to win the Match Roping title and winner-take-all $20,000 prize.

Durfey has been champion of the world once. He is a 13 time National Finals Rodeo qualifier and has won the roping fiesta before.

Smidt has also been champion of the world except he has done it twice. He also has two NFR average championship on only six qualifying trips. He is a former Roping Fiesta Champion.

The showdown is scheduled for October 23-25 at the outdoor roping arena at the fair grounds. Here is the full schedule:

Tickets go on sale Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. All events in the 1st Community Credit Union Spur Arena and the vendor show in the Cattle Barn and Coliseum are free admission. The only ticketed events are the Invitational Calf Roping & Match Roping, which are $12, and the Steer Roping and Double Mugging, which are $10.
