SAN ANGELO, TX – Dozens of area kiddos braved the chilly morning Saturday to try out for San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Jr. Rodeo Clown and Princess at Blair's Western Wear.
Committee Chair Sally Green said they would select 33 youngsters to assist with the Mutton Bustin' at 11 performances of the annual San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo beginning later this month.

The San Angelo Rodeo Ambassadors interviewed the potential Jr. Rodeo Clowns and Princesses and took their photographs.
Kids were encouraged to dress as either a clown or princess, whichever they are trying out for. Children were given a short interview as a part of the selection process.
According to the San Angelo Stock Shown and Rodeo website, the Rodeo Clown and Rodeo Princess Contest is an annual event for youngsters age 5 through 9 to participate in the rodeo as an honorary rodeo clown or princess during the Mutton Bustin' event.
The first Rodeo performance is Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. and the final performance is the Cinch Chute Out on Saturday Feb. 15.

The first event of 2020 is the Junior Food Challenge Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020 at 8 a.m. at the fairgrounds.
