SAN ANGELO, TX – Thousands of spectators watched hundreds of cowboys compete in two days of tie down roping, steer roping and double mugging at the 66th annual Cinch Roping Fiesta at the San Angelo outdoor arena over the weekend.
The big draw was the match roping featuring ten-time NFR qualifier and 2005 World Champion All-Around Cowboy Ryan Jarrett going head to head against 2015 and 2018 reigning World Champion tie-down roper Caleb Smidt in the Zesch and Pickett Insurance sponsored event.
The two professional tie-down cowboys roped 12 calves in the winner-take-all event. Texas cowboy Caleb Smidt won the event and rode away with $20,000.
