The weather outside for this morning's rodeo parade was fantastic. As the sun shined, fans lined the streets downtown to witness another San Angelo tradition.
Steven Presley moved to San Angelo in 2000 to work at Goodfellow. He gained appreciation for the parade through the telling of his wife's stories of its importance, and attends just about evry year.
"I love today's parade, especially because of the weather," Presley chuckled. "Traditionally, it's gonna rain or snow or something, so I love this, great parade."
On the rooftop of the library there were Valentine's cookies to snack on and a lookout view of the parade below. Marcy Bosequett, Community Relations Coordinator for the library decided to open the spacious rooftop to the public for Saturday morning's parade.
"This is the first year that we have been able to do this, and we have a great view between the courthouse and Wells Fargo Bank." Bosequett also added that they are likely to have it open again next year.
People from surrounding areas were in attendance. The Weatherford Sheriff's Department even showed up to ride in their support of the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo Parade. Antique cars and tractors, lots and lots of horses, tons of western themed floats and a crowd of smiling faces, ushered in the rodeo spirit for 2015.
