Pfluger Marks 9/11 With Message Against Political Violence
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) recorded a message to his fellow TX-11 residents and all Americans to reflect on the 24th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks and the assassination of Charlie Kirk. In the message, Rep. Pfluger condemned political violence in all forms and called for unity as Americans, just as we did 24 years ago.
As Rep. Pfluger shares in the video, "In this memory of 24 years ago, we are awakened today knowing that Charlie Kirk was assassinated for political reasons, for freedom of speech... I want to be clear that anyone or any organization that targets an individual for political reasons, that assassinates any individual for political reasons, is an enemy of the United States. And yet I hope, as we did 24 years ago, that our country can unite behind that theme, that we as Americans do not tolerate such violence. That we do not tolerate the domestic incitement of violence against anyone for political reasons.

To my fellow residents in Texas-11, today is a somber day. And as we remember the anniversary of 9/11, 24 years ago, those who were senselessly murdered by terrorists, those who served and their families that sacrificed, and many who gave the ultimate sacrifice. We thank our service members and their families for keeping our country safe.
And yet, in this memory of 24 years ago, we are awakened today knowing that Charlie Kirk was assassinated for political reasons, for freedom of speech. As I reflect on my own oath of office to protect the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, I've done that and served in the military.
And I hope that we can reflect on this day, 9/11, as a moment that we came together 24 years ago, and we must come together now.
I'm praying for the Kirk family. We are praying, and continue to pray for the military families and the first responders who bravely rose to the occasion 24 years ago, and have done so every single day since then. And I'm praying for America that we unite as Americans and once again, come together. God bless you.
