John Bariou Runs for San Angelo City Council’s SMD 2 Seat

SAN ANGELO, TX – John Bariou is one of three candidates running for the Single Member District 2 (SMD 2) seat on the San Angelo City Council.

The position is currently held by Tom Thompson, who was elected in 2017 and has served for eight years. Thompson is now running for mayor, leaving the seat open.

Bariou, along with Dudra Butler and Joe M. Self, Jr., is on the ballot for the May election.

Bariou’s campaign materials mention transparency, fiscal responsibility, and community engagement as key issues. His website states that he plans to host town hall meetings, listen to input from residents, and work to prevent excessive government spending.
