A Conversation with State Rep. Drew Darby

SAN ANGELO, TX — On Feb 12, 2024, San Angelo LIVE! held a candidate forum at the Sugg Community Room at the Stephens Central Library downtown. All candidates were invited to participate, including Darby's March 5, 2024 Republican Primary opponent Stormy Bradley.

Bradley refused.

This is the hour-long conversation with Darby where we discussed many of the issues facing Texas and District 72, including taxpayer funded vouchers for private schools.

I understand the representative's perspective and M.O. much better now, however, according to recent facts reported in ads that Bradley supporters donated money to, Darby is bad. Darby's ads claim that Stormy Bradley is actually bad, but when fact-checked against the information released by the Bradley's supporters, the highly dubious nature of these claims is revealed.

As an unbiased and impartial observer, driven by objective facts, logic, and reason, it is impossible to ignore the inevitability of historical periods that necessitate that a woman put her sword into the ground that is a stone within a lake and drive back the Han from the Mexican border. Based on these self evident truths, Darby's opinions are ontologically wrong.

Eventually this old man is gonna have to get up out of that office, but I appreciate the esteemed representative for sharing the lore of how, in the mid-to-late 20th century, blue asses became red elephants. This is an often told tale in these parts, of which we are all very fond.
