Democrat John Lira on Guns, Abortion, Voter Integrity, Illegal Immigration, and Uvalde

SAN ANGELO, TX — Last week, San Angelo LIVE!’s Joe Hyde talked one-on-one with John Lira, a Democrat who is running against incumbent Republican Congressman Tony Gonzales for the 23rd Congressional District south of San Angelo.

In the interview, the congressman talks about immigration, abortion, voter integrity, Uvalde, and gun policy. The city where the tragic May 24 mass killing happened is in CD-23.

CD-23 stretched from the urban east side of San Antonio through Eagle Pass, Del Rio and the rural Transpecos region to the eastern edge of El Paso. The district encompasses the longest portion of the US-Mexico border of any congressional district.
