EXCLUSIVE: Congressman Pfluger on Biden's Plan to Dump Illegal Migrants in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO – In an exclusive interview on Thursday morning Congressman August Pfluger confirmed that the Department of Homeland Security is attempting to use San Angelo as a place to keep illegal aliens.

As previously reported, on Jun. 9,  County Judge Steve Floyd confirmed that Tom Green County and the City of San Angelo are currently working on a situation involving illegal aliens being dropped off in San Angelo. For the original articles, click here.

The following morning Congressman August Pfluger gave us an exclusive interview to talk about what he's doing to stop it. In the interview he told LIVE! that he is working on with the DHS but they are little to no help. He also explained the effects of being a hot bed for the mass amount of immigrants they will bring.

"Enough is enough," said Pfluger. "San Angelo, Midland, Odessa, no where in District 11, or Texas, or anywhere in the United States deserves to have the flood of illegal immigrants that we see causing an unfunded mandate on our school systems, on our hospitals and on our law enforcement. The number of high speed chases, the amount of criminal activity that we see, and the rise in violence is unacceptable."

According to the Center for Immigration Studies, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas estimated that 375,000 illegal migrants encounter by the Customs and Border Patrol at the southwest U.S. border have been released into the interior of our country and still here. In addition, about 125,000 unaccompanied alien children (UACs) are residing in the US. The CIS used the Texas Attorney General’s lawsuit against the Biden Administration, Texas vs. Biden, filed in April 2021 to estimate that 756,000 illegal migrants reside inside the U.S. since President Joe Biden took office.

Many of these illegal migrants have been issued Notices to Report, Notices to Appear or are on what the DHS has termed “parole disposition.”

“If they all resided in one city, it would be the 20th largest in the United States — much larger than Las Vegas (population: 675,592), Nashville (682,262), or Boston (696,959),” noted the CIS.

The CBP estimates that the agency was able to prevent 1.8 million additional illegal migrants from coming into the U.S. by using Title 42 rules that allow immediate exclusion. The Biden Administration, through the Centers for Disease Control, announced it was ending Title 42 expulsions on April 1, 2022. A federal judge blocked Biden’s rescinding of the rule on May 20.

Title 42 allows emergency powers to immediately expel migrants for health and safety concerns and Covid-19 was the reason for Trump to issue a public health order in March 2020.
