WATCH Gov. Greg Abbott Finally Reopens Bars

SAN ANGELO, TX – Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced Wednesday that bars will be able to reopen in a week.

According to the video released by the Texas Governor, on Oct. 14 bars can open at a 50% capacity.

Additionally, businesses like amusement parks, movie theaters, zoos, aquariums, and bowling alleys can expand to 75% capacity in counties with low COVID-19 hospitalizations ‪beginning October 12th.

"It is time to reopen them (the bars and river tubing operations)," said Gov. Abbott. "If everyone continues the safe practices Texas will continue to contain COVID and Texas will reopen 100 percent."

County Judges will have the option to let bars reopen or not depending on coronavirus numbers in their county.
