WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11), Chair of the Republican Study Committee, hosted Secretary of the Interior and newly formed National Energy Dominance Council Chair Doug Burgum on Capitol Hill this week to discuss the administration’s energy agenda with fellow committee members.
During the meeting, Secretary Burgum laid out his objectives to "unleash" all forms of American energy production, including oil, gas, and coal. According to information from Pfluger's office, Burgum spoke about the importance of streamlining permitting processes and increasing domestic energy output.
“As the representative for the most prolific oil and gas producing region in the country, I remain committed to working alongside the administration to advance pro-growth, energy policies,” Pfluger said. “Under the leadership of Secretary Burgum, America will once again be energy dominant.”

Pfluger was elected Chair of the Republican Study Committee in November 2024 for the 119th Congress. He previously chaired the committee’s House Energy Action Team during the 118th Congress, where he led energy policy efforts.
The Republican Study Committee is the oldest and largest conservative caucus in the U.S. House, with 189 members representing districts across the country.
