SAN ANGELO, TX — Three local associations have announced their endorsements for Tom Thompson for Mayor of San Angelo in the May election.
The San Angelo Association of Realtors, the Home Builders Association of San Angelo, and the San Angelo Police Officers Political Action Committee (PAC) have all endorsed the City Councilman.
An excerpt from the police officers’ endorsement reads: “It is no secret Councilman Thompson supports public safety and highlights the importance of all the first responders in our area. … Thompson’s experience on the San Angelo City Council, knowledge of San Angelo city operations, and demonstration of his commitment to San Angelo provides him with the expertise necessary to be Mayor.”
In their announcement, San Angelo Association of Realtors President Roy Zesch stated, “We are proud to support candidates who understand the importance of property rights, long-term local investment, and fostering a strong, vibrant city.”
Similarly, the HBA of San Angelo states they support candidates who most align with their priorities and support the local building community.
“I am especially honored to have the faith and support of these groups,” Thompson said. “To be a good mayor, you need to have shared goals with these folks. They share in common, with each other and me, a commitment to the best interests of San Angelo. Public safety and a positive economy in our city are hand-in-hand interests.”
Early voting begins April 22. Election Day is May 3.
