WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Trump signed Congressman August Pfluger's (TX-11) Congressional Review Act (CRA) to reverse former President Biden's "ill-conceived" natural gas tax into law.
In response to his legislation being signed into law, Pfluger said, “I was honored to witness President Trump sign my monumental legislation into law to deliver on the mandate to remove burdensome regulations in the energy industry and unleash American energy. This legislation repeals the tax President Biden imposed on every single consumer in this country and protects the hardworking men and women in the Permian Basin who have delivered affordable, reliable energy every day despite being assaulted by the Biden administration for four years. I owed it to my constituents who elected me to fight for them and get this legislation across the finish line. This is only the beginning of my mission to restore American energy dominance, and I thank President Trump for his action on this."
Senator Hoeven led the Senate companion for the CRA. In response to it being signed into law, Senator Hoeven said, "The Biden administration handcuffed our energy industry with unnecessary regulations and burdensome taxes, including a new tax on natural gas. Americans rely on natural gas as an affordable and reliable energy source for everything from heating and cooking to manufacturing. Our CRA blocks this natural gas tax, and is an important step as we work to roll back the Biden administration’s harmful Green New Deal policies. We appreciate President Trump signing our CRA into law as part of our broader effort to take the handcuffs off our producers to unleash more American energy, which will help reduce inflation and make our nation truly energy dominant.”

President Trump signed Congressman August Pfluger's (TX-11) Congressional Review Act (CRA) to reverse Biden's ill-conceived natural gas tax into law.
Background:
Last month, Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11), alongside Congressman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) and Senator John Hoeven (R-ND), introduced the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to disapprove of the Environmental Protection Agency's burdensome charge on waste emissions for petroleum and natural gas. The harmful natural gas tax hurts energy producers in the Permian Basin and raises energy prices for every American consumer across the country by stifling production, innovation, and capital investment. Congressman Pfluger has fought the natural gas tax since its inception.
Rep. Pfluger also penned an op-ed in the Daily Caller explaining what exactly this tax is and how his CRA is the first step toward eliminating the natural gas tax.
This CRA passed through the House and Senate last month, receiving praise from key Republican leaders and stakeholders across the energy sector.
