WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman August Pfluger (R-TX) praised President Trump for issuing a series of energy-focused executive orders on his first day back in office, calling the actions a major step toward restoring American energy dominance.
“On day one, President Trump has already upheld several promises he made to the American people through decisive executive actions, including several actions to unleash American energy," Pfluger stated. "As the representative of the most prolific oil and gas-producing region in the country, I commend President Trump's decision to utilize the rich energy and natural resources we are so blessed to have in this country and to get rid of the regulatory burdens that have crippled so many businesses and Americans the past four years. These actions will lower costs, protect consumers, and bolster national security. The golden age of American energy has officially begun, and I look forward to working with President Trump on restoring America's energy dominance.”
President Trump issued the following executive orders, among many others, to kick-start his America First Agenda and unleash American energy.
- Declaring a national energy emergency and unleashing energy production and mineral extraction
- Establishing America's position as the leading producer and processor of rare earth minerals and unlocking areas of land rich in such resources in a responsible way
- Ending the disastrous Green New Deal agenda
- Streamlining permitting and cutting burdensome red tape
- Supporting affordable and reliable energy sources being readily available in every State and territory of America, ending the previous administration’s burdensome climate initiatives
- Restarting the approval process for LNG Projects
- Eliminating the Biden Administration’s electric vehicle mandate to promote consumer choice which is necessary for economic growth and innovation
- Withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement
- Safeguarding access to a variety of goods and appliances such as lightbulbs, dishwashers, washing machines, gas stoves, water heaters, toilets, shower heads, and more
