WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman August Pfluger (R-TX) praised President Donald Trump for securing the release of 33 hostages from Hamas captivity just days before Trump is set to take office, calling it an early sign of “decisive leadership.”
In a statement released Wednesday, Pfluger criticized the Biden administration for failing to secure the hostages sooner, noting they had been held for over 15 months.
“These brave individuals have endured unimaginable suffering, and I am incredibly thankful they will soon be reunited with their loved ones,” Pfluger said.
The congressman pledged continued support for American citizens and allies, stating that the incoming Trump administration would prioritize their safety and work to prevent terrorist organizations from using innocent lives as "bargaining chips."
Pfluger also reiterated a commitment to securing the release of the remaining hostages.
“Under President Trump, we will return to an era of peace through strength,” Pfluger stated.
