Jimmy Carter, 39th U.S. President, Dies at 100

WASHINGTON - Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, passed away Sunday in Plains, Georgia, at the age of 100, The Carter Center announced. Carter holds the distinction of being the longest-living former U.S. president and, alongside his late wife Rosalynn, holds the record as the longest-married presidential couple.

Carter entered home hospice care in February 2023, and his family later revealed Rosalynn was diagnosed with dementia. She passed away in November 2023. Despite expectations he might not live long after her death, Carter became the first U.S. president to reach 100 years old on October 1.

Born on October 1, 1924, in Plains, Georgia, James Earl Carter Jr. was raised on a peanut farm and was deeply rooted in his Baptist faith. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Carter served as a naval officer before returning to Plains and marrying Rosalynn Smith.

Carter began his political career in 1962 as a Georgia state senator, later becoming governor from 1971 to 1975. In 1976, he defeated incumbent Gerald Ford to become president, winning 297 electoral votes. Carter remains the last Democratic nominee to carry Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas in a presidential election.

During his presidency, Carter brokered the Camp David Accords between Egypt and Israel, established the Departments of Energy and Education, and advocated for peace and human rights. His tenure was marked by challenges, including the Iran Hostage Crisis and the U.S. boycott of the 1980 Moscow Olympics.

After leaving office in 1981, Carter dedicated his life to humanitarian efforts, founding The Carter Center in 1982 and working with Habitat for Humanity. His global advocacy earned him the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize. He also taught Sunday school and remained active in his hometown church.

Carter is survived by three sons, one daughter, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

In assessing the passing of Jimmy Carter, it occurred to me that to see that famous smile one can easily view the soul of a pure, God-loving, country-loving, family adoring caring person with far more concern for others than himself.  He was a giver, and tonight Heaven has one less vacancy since it has gained one more resident.

In gazing upon the vacuous smirk that passes for a smile on the face of president-elect trump one can only see the face of a self-serving, soul-sucking creature intent on building a clown car full of ill-equipped acolytes to run a country clearly in need of far better qualified and intended individuals that offer the nation more than slavish subservience to a sociopathic narcissist with delusions of godhood.

Clearly God loved Jimmy Carter.  Clearly God considers trump to be punishment for poor judgment.

Go with God, Jimmy Carter.

I remember Billy Beer, lines around the block to buy gas, the Iranian hostage rescue, and 22% interest rates.  No wonder feckless useful idiots like Ex-Pat swoon over ole’ Jimmy.  I also remember Ronald Reagan stomping Jimmy the first time the peanut farmer came up for reelection. Hum? Speaking of President Trump and “stomping” notice any parallels?

Ex pat is a radical left libtard so you'll have to excuse his ignorance. The mean orange man touched him in the NO NO spot and he's still upset about it.

Very nice. I enjoyed reading this. The man walked the talk unlike any politician at any level in my lifetime -no question. He exemplified every single blue-collar, country boy, hardworking, pull yourself up from your bootstraps, underdog, god-fearing Christian, good ol boy, family-values man that conservatives hold dear. He wouldn’t compromise his Christian values.
It just didn’t work in this global economic system, evidently. Sad that the popular political takeaway is his party affiliation and not his core values.

Hey brain child!!
His family heritage was as racist as the aryans.
His so called good actions were more about redemption from the evils and so called heritage of carter families  past.
These same carters made their fortunes running plantations of slaves.

You act as if he is part of a specific U.S.-backed Middle Eastern ethnic group known as the "Semites." This group is currently engaged in genocide against vulnerable children, and women, and men. Disturbingly, such acts are celebrated in their sacred texts, such as the "Tanakh." It is rare to see members of this group apologize for the colonial actions of their purported homeland, nor are they generally expected to do so.

In "contrast," apologies for the atrocities committed in the United States, such as the genocide initiated by Andrew Jackson against Indigenous peoples—which lasted for generations—are seldom heard. There should be monuments to recognize this garland of atrocities, spead over generations, for what it is in every major city. In every major city, there should be museums dedicated to educating the public about the innocent blood of indigenous people that was spilled into the earth to establish their current way of life. Yet, such tributes are rare, and largely hollow.

If we are to hold soft-hearted Carter accountable for the actions of his ancestors rather than his own, then let him be judged for building his life on land that was drenched in the blood of the original inhabitants of the "New" World—of the Western Hemisphere.

No doubt his soft-hearted nature and his upbringing drove him to spend the latter part of his life making up for a career in politics.

A regular Ashoka.

It was TRUMPS fault again??

You need to swallow hard and get over it or get out😂😂😂

Jimmy Carter’s soul stood in the grand hall of Yamaloka, facing Lord Yama, the god of death and cosmic justice. Yama sat on his throne, flanked by Chitragupta, the divine scribe who held the exhaustive record of Carter’s deeds. The chamber was filled with an otherworldly aura, and the echoes of judgment reverberated in the air.

"Jimmy Carter," Yama intoned, his voice like thunder, "your presidency was marked by economic turmoil and political failures. Inflation, stagnation, and the Iranian hostage crisis weigh heavily against you. Yet, your post-presidency efforts for peace and humanity speak to your desire for redemption. Today, your soul will be judged."

Before Yama could continue, two figures stepped forward from the shadows. One was Elon Musk, clad in a futuristic suit radiating energy. The other was Vivek Ramaswamy, his attire simple yet dignified, exuding confidence.

"Lord Yama," Musk declared, "I will act as the prosecution. Carter’s failures as a leader delayed progress and innovation, creating unnecessary suffering. His presidency was a period of stagnation that harmed the global economy."

Ramaswamy interjected, his voice calm but firm. "And I will act as Carter’s defense. While his presidency had its flaws, his intentions were noble, and his contributions to humanity after leaving office must be considered."

Yama nodded. "Very well. Present your arguments."

Musk began, laying out Carter’s economic policies, the gas shortages, and the failed rescue attempt during the Iranian hostage crisis. "These failures weren’t just administrative—they had real consequences for millions of lives. Progress delayed is progress denied."

Ramaswamy countered, emphasizing Carter’s focus on human rights, the Camp David Accords, and his tireless work post-presidency. "His leadership may not have been perfect, but his commitment to peace and service laid the groundwork for future progress."

Yama listened intently, his expression unreadable. After a moment of contemplation, he raised his hand. "The scales of karma are intricate. Carter’s failures weigh heavily, but his atonement and service after his presidency have brought balance. He shall spend a brief time in Naraka for reflection, after which his soul will ascend to higher realms for further growth."

As Yama finished his judgment, Musk and Ramaswamy exchanged knowing glances. Suddenly, their forms began to shift. Musk transformed into Kubera, the god of wealth, his visage adorned with gold and jewels, his presence radiating opulence and ambition. Ramaswamy transformed into Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, holding a veena and exuding an aura of knowledge and eloquence.

Kubera spoke first, his voice resonant. "Yama, your judgment is just. Wealth and innovation must be balanced with service and humility."

Saraswati added, her tone serene. "And wisdom must guide ambition. Let this serve as a lesson for all leaders."

With that, the two gods reverted to their human forms, standing once more as Musk and Ramaswamy. They bowed to Yama, then turned and walked toward a shimmering portal leading back to Earth.

As they stepped through, Musk quipped, "Back to work on DOGE?"

Ramaswamy nodded, a faint smile on his face. "Hinduism is the official religion of the Republican Party now. We have a duty to innovate, and, according to science and those declassified CIA remote viewing documents, Jesus was an avatar of Vishnu. It is indisputable scientific fact."

The portal closed behind them, leaving Yama and Chitragupta to their eternal task of cosmic justice, while Musk and Ramaswamy returned to Earth, ready to shape the world under the guidance of Trump—an even greater cosmic divinity than they themselves...
