MILWAUKEE, WI — Congressman August Pfluger had the opportunity to sit in the Presidential box on the final day of the Republican National Convention with former President Donald Trump on Thursday, July 18.
Trump accepted the Republican Party's presidential nomination for the third time. His speech was his first since surviving an assassination attempt five days earlier.
“It was an incredible honor to stand with President Trump in his box at the Republican National Convention," Pfluger said in a statement. "President Trump later delivered a powerful address to the nation and pledged to unleash energy dominance and secure the border on Day 1. This is the leadership we need. Onward to victory!”
Trump's surging popularity after the assassination attempt is contrasted by his opponent, President Joe Biden, who is facing calls from the Democratic Party to drop out of the race after what was widely viewed as a disastrous performance in a recent debate with Trump.
The presidential election will be held Nov. 5.
