SAN ANGELO, TX — Lt. Mike Hernandez built a significant lead in early voting results. With absentee and early voting ballots counted, Hernandez leads the three-person field with 53.51% of the votes. There are 4,033 early votes counted, which is about how many early ad absentee votes that were cast.
Travis Griffith is in second with 42.40% of the vote. Chris Cimino has 4.09% of the vote.
Generally, early voting returns preview what the final count will be. Early voting numbers in significant numbers is a fairly accurate convenience sample.
Two Wall ISD board trustees will be elected tonight. With early votes counted, Doug Wilde and Houston Guy are leading a 5-candidate field.
In the Christoval ISD bond election, votes are poised to approve $19.5 million bond to improve the Christoval Elementary School. With just 235 votes counted, which is likely aout half the votes cast, the bond is passing 56.6% to 43.40%.
