SAN ANGELO, Texas – Retired NYFD Firefighter Rosendo 'Rosey' Velez, who was one of the first responders at the World Trade Centers during the 9/11/01 Terror Attacks on New York City, has endorsed Mike Hernandez for San Angelo Police Chief. Velez moved to San Angelo several years ago.

Having had the privilege of working with the largest and busiest agencies (fire, police,ems) in the America working with and learning from Police Chiefs in the largest police force in the country, I know what qualities and leadership skills are necessary to successfully lead any department. Among the candidates running for this esteemed position, Mike Hernandez stands out as the most capable.
Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the importance of ensuring the well-being and security of the community. His emphasis on public safety. I have no doubt that he will prioritize the safety and welfare of the citizens of San Angelo.
In addition to his dedication to public safety, Mike possesses exceptional interpersonal skills that enable him to treat people with kindness and respect, regardless of their situation.
