Police Chief Candidate Mike Hernandez Leads Campaign Finance Contest

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — For the 2024 police chief election campaigns, Mike Hernandez has broken the ceiling of $61,000. To put this into perspective, in the last county-wide election, it was for County Court at Law #2 judge, the top fundraiser was Andrew Graves who raised $54,171.30 by a month prior to election day for his campaign for the Republican Primary Election in March 2022. Graves won the election narrowly against Leland Lacy.

Hernandez’s total intake of cash was $61,180.50.

His top opponent is Travis Griffith who raised $43,969.41. The third candidate, Chris Cimino, raised $3,173.35.

Hernandez’s campaign finance report indicates a large number of donors. There were 113 donations listed on the Hernandez report, bringing the average donor size to $541.42 each.
