Retired DPS Assistant Chief Endorses Hernandez

SAN ANGELO, Texas – A retired Assistant Chief of the Texas Department of Public Safety and a U.S. Air Force Veteran couple have endorsed Lt. Mike Hernandez for San Angelo Chief of Police in the May 4, 2024 municipal election.

Brian Baxter is a retired Assistant Chief, Texas Department of Public Safety and a Veteran of the U.S. Army and his wife, Lynn Baxter, is a Registered Nurse and U.S. Air Force Veteran.

“Lynn and I weren’t born in San Angelo but we got here as soon as we could. Both of us are military veterans and have served the public for decades. A police chief is not just a high ranking cop, they are the CEO, CFO, and COO of an existential public service agency. We love this city and her leaders and in a pool of excellent candidates, Lt. Hernandez has the breadth and depth of operational and leadership experience that puts him over the top as our choice for Chief of Police.
