Trump Skips Debate as 8 Rivals Take the Stage Wednesday

NEW YORK – Former President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that he will not be attending the GOP Presidential Debate Wednesday.  Here's what the former President wrote:

"New CBS POLL, just out, has me leading the field by “legendary” numbers. TRUMP 62%, 46 Points above DeSanctimonious (who is crashing like an ailing bird!), Ramaswamy 7%, Pence 5%, Scott 3%, Haley 2%, Sloppy Chris Christie 2%, “Aida” Hutchinson 1%. The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had, with Energy Independence, Strong Borders & Military, Biggest EVER Tax & Regulation Cuts, No Inflation, Strongest Economy in History, & much more. I WILL THEREFORE NOT BE DOING THE DEBATES!”

Fox News announced that eight GOP candidates have qualified for the stage:  North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, former Vice President Mike Pence, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott.

Fox News is hosting the first GOP Presidential Debate Wednesday night at 9 p.m. EST in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
