Texas Democrats Plan '24 Convention at 'Gotham on the Border'

AUSTIN – The Texas Democratic Party proudly announced Tuesday the launch of the fundraising campaign for the 2024 Texas Democratic Convention to be held in El Paso.

According to the Party, “2024 will be a banner election year for Texas Democrats – and we’re thrilled to be able to kick off the festivities in El Paso,” said Congresswoman Veronica Escobar, Co-Chair of the 2024 Texas Democratic Convention. “From the Biden-Harris Administration’s historic victories on behalf of working Texans to Texas Democrats fighting for Texas families every day in D.C. and Austin, we’ll have much to celebrate in El Paso next spring. But more importantly, the Convention will serve as a reminder of the need for our party to unite and mobilize in advance of next November – so we can ensure we’re able to defeat the MAGA Republican extremism that’s poisoning our communities and making it harder for everyday Texans just to get by.”

“This past legislative session was a reminder that Texas Republicans will stop at nothing to continue forcing upon Texans their MAGA ideologies – even if it comes at the expense of families being able to live in health, freedom, and safety,” said State Senator César Blanco, Co-Chair of the 2024 Texas Democratic Convention. “From local races at the bottom of the ticket, all the way up to re-electing Joe Biden as President and defeating Ted Cruz, we need to do everything in our power to elect Democrats next November – and I couldn’t be more honored that the opening salvo of that effort will be in El Paso.
