WATCH: Andrew Graves Sworn in as New Tom Green County Court at Law Judge

 

SAN ANGELO – Long time San Angelo Attorney Andrew Graves was sworn in Tuesday morning as Judge, Tom Green County Court at Law No. 2 by retiring Judge Penny Roberts before a standing room only crowd in the Michael D. Brown Justice Center.

Graves won the GOP Primary election in March 2022 and has no opponents on the Nov. 8 general election ballot.

Graves replaces Judge Roberts, who was appointed Judge for the court when in was created in 1995. 

Judge Roberts graduated from Baylor University School of Law in May of 1989 and was licensed to practice by the Supreme Court in November 1989. She was appointed to the newly created County Court at Law 2 as Judge in October 1995.

County Court at Law judges perform the judicial duties of County Judges in Texas.  Court at Law judges function as courts between the Justice of the Peace Courts and District Courts.  

County Court at Law Judges can also function as District Judges under certain circumstances.  They are elected to four year terms.
