SAN ANGELO – Texas Governor Greg Abbott was in San Angelo as the morning Keynote speaker at the 18th Annual West Texas Legislative Summit. The annual event is a gathering of elected officials and industry experts sharing the latest information on the issues facing the state each August.
The WTLS is hosted by State Representative Drew Darby, State Senator Charles Perry and U.S. Congressman August Pfluger.
Gov. Abbott outlined the border crisis and the measures the state has taken to deal with the humanitarian issues as the federal government under the Biden Administration has abdicated its primary duty to secure the border.

The 18th Annual West Texas Legislative Summit at Angelo State University drew a full house to network and hear panel discussions on the Challenges & Outcomes in Rural Hospitals & Healthcare; Long Term Economic Growth; Future Water Supply & Drought; Rural Broadband Access; and Energy Independence.
The Summit was presented by Amerigroup and hosted by the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce in the Houston Harte University Center on the Angelo State University Campus.
